CREATION SUNDAY

Since 2006, the pro-evolution Clergy Letter Project has successfully promoted the celebration of an Evolution Sunday in churches throughout the world. They also have a list of nearly 12,700 ministers who affirm that evolution is true and that the Genesis record is a teaching myth like Aesop’s Fables.

In 2009, their Evolution Weekend included 861 congregations from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 13 countries (Down from 1,049 Congregations from all 50 States, the District of Columbia, US Virgin Islands and 15 Countries in 2009).

As of this date (Nov 16, 2010) only 347 congregations from 47 US States and 10 countries have already pledged to participate in Evolution Sunday 2011.

The Clergy Letter Project is often cast in the faces of Creationists to insinuate that we are merely a fringe element of Christianity, because there has not yet been an answer to their challenge.  Our silence is used as an admission of our alleged irrelevance.

It’s disgusting that this modern-day Goliath gets to mock the people of God, flaunting the compromise of some of our ministers as if it represented the majority opinion, with no answer in kind.

One of the ways we can re-affirm the doctrines of Bliclical Creation and Catastrophism and answer the mockery of Evolution Sunday is by celebrating a Creation Sunday instead.
